As is well known, the Municipality of Pompeii has faced several administrative challenges; following the resignation of the majority of councilors in 2020, a prefectural commissioner was appointed to manage the transition, but some critical issues currently require thorough investigation and prompt action.
For this reason, I have asked the Minister of the Interior to clarify, including by immediately appointing an investigation commission, certain alleged illegalities that appear to have been committed. Obviously, the conditional is mandatory, and it is not up to me to issue verdicts, but we want it to be guaranteed in full respect of the law and the citizens of Pompeii."
