Award ceremony in Caserta at the Seminary Library.
Giovanni Grasso, advisor for press and communication to the President of the Republic and director of the Quirinale press office; Giuseppina Paterniti, former editorial director of Rai; and Paolo Marchi, of Striscia la Notizia are the winners of the 2024 edition of the Buone Notizie Award.
The prestigious award, now in its fifteenth edition, is for “good news,” that is, not only correct and complete information, but also information that is ready to go a step further by telling the positive normality of society.
Buone Notizie also chooses the “good news of the year”, which will be announced, as per tradition, in the days immediately preceding the award. The award ceremony, a bronze sculpture, cast especially by the artist Battista Marello, will take place on Saturday 27 January at 16 pm in the Caserta Seminary Library (in Piazza Duomo in Caserta).
On the day of the event, the annual activities of the Buone Notizie Award will also be announced, such as the “Buone Notizie Young Award”, a competition that involves the creation of journalistic videos in Italian schools and universities, to educate on good information.
“The Good News – explains Luigi Ferraiuolo, general secretary of the award – it was born from the desire to promote communicators and journalists who provide good information by also describing the positive aspects of everyday life: because a good example is worth more than a thousand serious speeches”.
