Giovanni Di Presa, a 64-year-old former special education teacher at the Paolo Soprani middle school in Castelfidardo, Ancona, has finally been acquitted by the Court of Appeal in the capital of the Marche region after six years of legal battles.
He was accused of sexual harassment and abuse by some 13-year-old students, but the second-instance ruling found the charges to be unfounded.
The girls' accusations of sexual harassment and abuse proved unfounded, and it appears the young women had ganged up against Di Presa following the professor's seizure of their smartphones.

Initially, two students accused the teacher of sexual harassment, while the disabled student reported abuse, but the appeal court also cleared him of the abuse charges.
After finally being exonerated, the teacher is trying to rebuild his life and has announced that he will instruct his lawyers to evaluate the possibility of receiving compensation for the damages he suffered.
