The first training course of the Gol (Guarantee of Employability of Workers) program for "food bank operator" is underway, a figure highly sought after by the job market at provincial level, organized in Salerno with the participation of the companies associated with Federazione UNICA that will be the host for the internship part.

Tomorrow, Monday 8 January 2024, the first lesson for the 15 participants, aged between 40 and 60 and mostly women, who have joined the initiative. The course, divided into 60 lessons, includes 300 hours of training.

"Gol represents an important tool to promote the reintegration into the workplace of the unemployed, NEETs, over 55s, and disadvantaged categories – comments Alessandro D'Amico, national vice president of Unica and head of Unica in Salerno – for this reason, the criteria for identifying training courses need to be revised, otherwise there is the risk of not matching supply and demand and putting participants in difficulty with courses that require basic training that they do not always possess.

Another key aspect – concludes D'Amico – concerns the allocation by employment centers, which is not always balanced among the various training institutions present in the area."

The Gol program funded by the European Union – Next Generation EU, is a reform action envisaged by the Pnrr (National Recovery and Resilience Plan) to promote job reintegration through active job search policies, job placement and strengthening of professional skills.

Employment centres, employment agencies and training institutions are involved in the implementation of the programme.

Aimed at workers with social safety nets or other supports (citizen's income, Naspi), vulnerable workers (young people, women with particular disadvantages, people with disabilities, over 55s), working poor, unemployed people without income support, Gol aims to accompany the unemployed in re-entering the world of work through a personalized orientation program, flexible and free interventions that allow them to increase and improve the skills necessary to carry out the profession.

The program, in fact, includes different paths: job placement, updating, reintegration or professional requalification, and inclusion and collective relocation in a network with other territorial services (social, socio-health, conciliation, educational) in the case of complex needs, such as those of people with disabilities or fragility.
