Given the resounding success of visitors, with over 30 visitors, including tourists and school groups, the free exhibition "Pasión Picasso" at the State Archives of Naples will be extended to the public until March 11.

The initiative, organized by the State Archives of Naples and supported by the Campania Region as part of the POC 2014-2020, aims to enable the general public to learn about the fascinating story surrounding the great Spanish artist's postwar debut in Italy, documented in the personal archive of Senator Eugenio Reale, held at the Archives. The emotional-visual component that captured visitors' attention was created thanks to the innovative and technological support of Softec SpA, opening a new virtual window of connection with the artist and his most representative works in an immersive exhibition.

The project is part of the official international celebrations of the major joint project of the Binational Commission of Spain and France "Picasso Celebration 1973-2023", to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of the death of Pablo Picasso.

The exhibition, curated by the State Archives of Naples - Ministry of Culture, is the fruit of the alliance between Italy and Spain and their cultural ties. During the tour, visitors can observe 39 works by the great Spanish artist, as well as archival documents, newspaper articles, postcards, photographs, and autographed letters by Pablo Picasso, dating back to 1953 and the controversy surrounding the organization of the two exhibitions in Rome and Milan, which sparked a controversy that even led to political conflict.

"Our action of building loyalty among an ever-new audience to an Institution, until now considered a Thebaid for experts and researchers, is evolving with flattering results. - says Candida Carrino, director of the State Archives of Naples - LLast year, our exhibition of antique toys from the 22th to the 11th century, "La Fiera dei Balocchi," attracted XNUMX visitors in two months. Through March XNUMXth, thanks to "Pasiòn Picasso," we expect to nearly double that number—even though we aren't open on holidays, like museums—certain to have piqued the public's interest in all the monumental, artistic, and documentary treasures we have to offer. Our decision to join the "Picasso Celebration" project, with the support of the Campania Region, has been an excellent catalyst. - concludes Carrino -, as well as the international media partnership with the ANSA and EFE press agencies and the innovative technological proposal, the result of the know-how of Softec SpA and with the Oculus of Lirica."

"We are very satisfied with this success of the exhibition - explains Massimo Furoni, Chief Strategy Officer Softec -. It's clear that visitors are moved and curious to immerse themselves in the lives and works of the great artists who have shaped history—in this case, art history. The Phygital experience certainly represents a plus, welcoming and guiding visitors with a series of touchpoints they can interact with using their smartphone. Technology thus becomes a powerful enabler, capable of bringing culture to young people in particular, but also allowing adults to enjoy the artistic and cultural experience without requiring any technical expertise or high-performance digital tools.

What is PHYGITAL? It's the perfect and harmonious fusion of digital tools with physical space; it's the very essence of the exhibition. Even in the cultural sphere, its most intense and moving side emerges, especially when integrated into physical space, blending the centuries-old beauty of a place shaped by history, like the sixteenth-century Chiostro del Platano, with the immersive and engaging density of digital technology. Full immersion in Picasso and seamless bookings sold out as soon as news of the exhibition's extension spread: culture becomes… Pasiòn.
