The second day of protest by farmers and agricultural entrepreneurs of Irpinia It started in the late morning, with over one hundred tractors that gathered in the industrial area of Flumeri.
From there, they headed toward the center of Grottaminarda in a procession that will end near the A16 Naples-Canosa highway toll booth. Many mayors and local administrators support the protest, which has excluded union flags and party symbols.
During the event, a coffin was displayed as a symbol of Made in Italy on a tractor, while on another vehicle a hanged green mannequin was shown, to represent the difficulties of agricultural companies.
Farmers denounce EU agricultural policies that force them to sell their products below cost and face ever-higher taxes. A new protest is planned in front of the Campania Region headquarters in Avellino tomorrow.
