The Court of Chieti has sentenced five people, all of them Napoli, for attempted robbery at the post office on Viale Majella in Francavilla al Mare.
It is Emilio Santillo of 53 years, Leonardo Musdace of 51, Giancarlo DiPinto of 45 years old, each sentenced to 2 years and two months of imprisonment and a 700 euro fine, and of Raffaele Rende, 50 years old, and Arthur Cat aged 38, who received two years of imprisonment and a fine of 666 euros.
Prosecutor Lucia Campo had requested an acquittal for all of them because the charges of attempted robbery did not substantiate the charges, and a sentence of one year and two months for all of them for altering the license plate of a moped on which Santillo and Musdace were riding on the day of the attempted robbery, December 5, 2019.

Rende and Gatto were acquitted of this charge because they did not commit the crime. According to the prosecution, the five accomplices had committed acts clearly aimed at carrying out the post office robbery, using hats and neck warmers to achieve their goal so as not to be recognized.
But they failed to complete their plan as the criminal action was interrupted by the intervention of the police.
