Even when incivility and carelessness are forgotten, the sea reminds us of the environmental damage done.
The bad weather of the last few days has caused the storm surges to return the free beaches of San Giovanni a Teduccio and Mergellina (next to Molo Luise) debris and waste thrown into the water and abandoned on the beaches. On the first one there is even the carcass of an animal.
"We have reported this to the Port Authority and requested urgent cleanup efforts," Borrelli stated. "Above all, however, we must take action to prevent and combat incivility. The use of plastic must be limited, and in any case, it must be disposed of properly without causing further damage to the environment. The sea and beaches are fundamental resources and must be protected. Those who disobey must be punished."
