The crucial phase of the investigation into Giulia Cecchettin's femicide is approaching: the scientific investigations on Filippo Turetta's car
The black Fiat Grande Punto, in which the young man was stopped by German police on November 18, has been in the hands of the Parma RIS (Italian Special Investigative Service) for four weeks. Experts are analyzing the bloodstains found on the back seat and inside the car to determine whether this is where Giulia died, or whether the young woman from Vigonovo was already dead when Turetta was caught on camera loading her body into the back seat.
According to initial reports, a significant amount of blood was found on the back seat of the Punto. Experts in bloodstain pattern analysis, a technique that studies the shape and trajectory of blood spatter, will be able to determine the source and the cause of the bleeding.
Together with the consultant of the Prosecutor's Office, the lawyers of the parties, the defenders of Turetta and those of the Cecchettin family will also be summoned, who will in turn nominate the experts who will participate in the unrepeatable examinations.

Also found on the Fiat Punto were one of the two knives used by Turetta, the one with a 12-centimeter blade, black nylon bags, a shoe, and a cell phone. It should be Turetta's phone, because Giulia's was never found.
The evidence gathered through these investigations will serve to support or disprove the statements Turetta made to the prosecutor on December 1st during the nine-hour interrogation he conducted in Verona prison. It's a story riddled with inconsistencies and many "I don't remember" statements, in which Giulia's ex-boyfriend and torturer stated, "Something clicked in my head" to explain the horror.
Turetta is locked up in the Montorio prison in Verona
Filippo Turetta continues to spend his days in Verona's Montorio prison without any major changes. In recent days, rumors had spread that he was about to be transferred to another section of the prison. Currently, however, the young man remains incarcerated in the sixth section, the infirmary, where he has been held since his arrival in Italy on November 25th.
