A Sant'Antonio Abate The Carabinieri of the mobile radio section arrested for resisting arrest and receiving stolen goods Luca Merolla, 50 years old from Boscoreale already known to the police. It is afternoon and the Gazelle is driving through the streets of the city when an Alfa Stelvio with 3 people on board is noticed. The Carabinieri do not lose sight of the powerful SUV: from checks it appears stolen last December 19, the chase begins.
The daring chase lasts several kilometers with wrong-way races and damage to cars in transit until the Stelvio continues its course in an agricultural field. The fugitives abandon the car still in motion and the carabinieri manage to stop the driver, in via Lenza.
In the car – seized – a pair of black gloves, a baseball cap and 210 euros in cash were found. The car was subjected to technical checks by the Carabinieri of the survey section of the investigative unit of the Torre Annunziata group. Investigations that continue for the soldiers of Castellammare engaged in identifying the 2 accomplices. The arrested person is awaiting trial.
