It used drones and open sources such as Google Maps and Google Earth, the Guardia di Finanza of Salerno, to identify and seize a Scafati, under the overpass of state road 268, two areas intended for judicial storage illegally transformed by a company into real open-air landfills.
The yellow flames of Scafati, with Arpac and the Local Police, seized a total of 4 thousand square meters on which there were also the seized vehicles destined for demolition. The investigators - believing that there was a serious environmental risk linked to the large quantity of waste found, well 600 tons, stored on land that was not waterproofed – reported the alleged perpetrator to the Nocera Inferiore Public Prosecutor's Office.
The latter is accused “the illegal management of end-of-life vehicles and waste consisting of their components, invasion of public and private land, abandonment of waste and unauthorized waste management activities”. At the same time, interventions aimed at limiting the contamination of the seized areas were also arranged and carried out.
