“To counteract the lack of staff in prisons, there are active courses for thousands of agents and the scrolling of the rankings for 248 agents”.
This was stated by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Justice Andrea Delmastro delle Vedove at the end of a visit to the prison in Massa (Massa Carrara). Regarding the prisoners, the Undersecretary observed that “we need to study mechanisms so that a prisoner who comes to another prison to work, but in reality this is only an excuse to go to another institution, can quickly go back to the institution from which he left, just as he arrived, if he doesn't work”.
According to Delmastro "these are attitudes that take away the place for the real treatment of work from another prisoner who has not had this opportunity. More than a criterion in the selection of the entrance there must be rigidity in sending the prisoner back to the prison of origin if it is realized that he does not want to work".
