Among other things, thanks also to on-site inspections, it was confirmed that a boathouse had been converted into a spa, that swimming pools and a helipad had been built to provide luxury hotel services, and that a warehouse had been transformed into a chapel.
The precautionary measure represents the outcome of the appeal filed by the Salerno Public Prosecutor's Office against the order in which the Salerno preliminary investigations judge, hearing a request for the precautionary seizure of various buildings for the crime of illegal development, deemed it ineffective, acknowledging only the unlawfulness of some of the works and, consequently, ordering the seizure only of the "building intended for the wellness area as well as the mooring for boats, the connecting walkways and the desalination and generator room and the land on which they stand."

The Court of Appeal has instead, at this stage, deemed the existence of the contested crime, ordering the preventive seizure of the entire tourist hotel complex and the urbanization works.
The complex investigative activity, carried out also with the assistance of the Judicial Police sections of the Salerno Public Prosecutor's Office, the Guardia di Finanza units and the State Police, arose from an inspection, which took place in July 2023, by personnel serving on the naval units of the Guardia di Finanza, who during operational navigations, having visually noted what were believed to be changes to the structures located within the Gallo Lungo of the island of "Li Galli", intervened in the aforementioned places.
On the basis of the inspection, the construction of a series of building works was contested, namely:
- Change of use of warehouse/boat storage space into a spa with construction of a new space for restrooms and a recreational pool;
- construction of new volumes for the creation of en-suite rooms near existing buildings, increasing the surface area and volume of structures subject to building amnesty applications; - construction of new infrastructure to ensure luxury hotel services, including, in particular, swimming pools and a helipad;
- construction of new volumes for the creation of hotel-type services, such as a pantry building, desalination plant building and generator;
-The island had belonged to the famous dancer Rudolf Nureyev
In 1924, the Russian choreographer and dancer Leonide Massine purchased the archipelago, building a villa that architect Le Corbusier embellished. The property later passed to another celebrated Russian dancer, Rudolf Nureyev, who purchased it in 1989. It was sold shortly after his death in 1993.
