Two Neapolitans were arrested. An investigation by the Guardia di Finanza in Capua put an end to their illicit trafficking, as the two had also sold the counterfeit banknotes to at least five other people.
The military personnel of the Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza of Caserta have executed an order applying the precautionary measure of house arrest, issued by the GIP of the Court of Santa Maria Capua Vetere, at the request of the Prosecutor's Office against two people investigated for the crime of possession and circulation of numerous counterfeit banknotes.
The execution of the measure occurred following a complex investigation activity, coordinated by this Public Prosecutor's Office and conducted by the Guardia di Finanza Company of Capua, from which it emerged that the suspects, originally from the Neapolitan hinterland, introduced into the legal payment circuit a large number of counterfeit banknotes by spending at various commercial establishments in the provinces of Caserta and Napoli.
In addition to the shopping, the banknotes were also sold to 5 other people.
During the investigation it emerged that, in addition to the possession and spending of counterfeit banknotes, the arrested individuals also sold and transferred counterfeit banknotes of different denominations (mainly 20, 50 and 100 euro), to 5 other persons under investigation, who knowingly purchased them or in any case received them thanks to their intermediation work.
The purchase price of counterfeit banknotes to be put into circulation varied depending on their nominal value and the quality of their workmanship.
