“L'ultima canzone” (Roba da Matti Dischi) is the title of the new single by the band Volume2, on the radio and digital platforms from today, Friday 26 January.
“L'ultima canzone” is a classic ballad, in which the piano notes, intense and full of pathos, mix with the energetic electric sounds while maintaining the most classic characteristics of Italian pop music. The influences of bands like Negramaro and Radiohead make the song modern and dynamic, with fluid arrangements rich in melody, which accompany a soft and elegant voice, sometimes sharp.
The song is a poem addressed to a love story that has ended, a dedication from someone who still feels a strong feeling to someone who has decided to continue his life on another path. The song focuses on the last moments of the relationship, those that amplify emotions, that bring back to life feelings that may have been dormant and mark the separation more deeply. Despite the pain, however, love does not die with a goodbye and the last song consecrates it forever, even if it will never return, thanks to this song it will never die.
“We worked on this song in the belief that the end of every important love story deserves a moment of profound realization and awareness, so that the recognition of the freedom of those who profess to love is an essential element of their very existence.“, Volume2 declare about the new single.
The video clip of the song was directed by Mauro Madau and Paolo Marras.
I Volume2 are a musical group originally from Sardinia, composed of Giuliano Madau (vocals, keyboards), Gian Luca Dedola (guitar), Simone Meli (bass, keyboards, backing vocals), Daniele Piu (drums, percussion). After intense activity with Cover Garden, a band that has been a protagonist of the island's music scene for years, in 2023 the lineup undergoes some changes and decides to change course, giving life to a project of unreleased songs. Thus begins the collaboration with the Milanese label "Roba da Matti Dischi" (Modà, Tazenda). The four elements of the band are the result of very different musical extractions and experiences, which blend light music, pop and a dystopian disco music, winking at Anglo-Saxon punk: all in a dynamic and innovative synergy of sounds.
From January 27, 2024, “L'ultima canzone”, the single that marks their recording debut, will be on the radio and on all digital platforms.
