'I feel stupid', the single by the singer-songwriter from Salerno of Sonoimperfetto

The musical project of Sonoimperfetto, a singer-songwriter from Campania who is back on streaming platforms with “Mi sento scemo”, his new single written shoulder to shoulder with the author Eleonora Toscani and released in collaboration with the record label Gotham Dischi, starts here.

The track was presented to the selection committee of the 2023 edition of Sanremo Giovani. Even though it is not included in the shortlist of aspiring “Big” of the Italian Song Festival, “Mi sento scemo” is still entrusted with the task of bringing the music of the singer-songwriter, whose real name is Gerardo Giarletta, back to the headphones and of underlining an artistic partnership, the one with Gotham Dischi, which hopefully will be long-lasting and full of satisfaction.

"It tells the story of a person who has lost someone very special and now finds himself brooding over that loss. – explains Sonoimperfetto -. The song speaks of how important that person was and the burning desire to have them back in your life. With a catchy melody and deeply touching lyrics, I hope "I Feel Like a Fool" can inspire reflection on past relationships and the universal feelings of love and loss.

A handful of months after “Luna”, the second song of the artistic journey undertaken by Giarletta under the new pseudonym, the artist restarts the engines and gets back on the road to bring people his music and his words, made of life and simple emotions, but which at the same time know how to find a way to reach their destination, in the hearts and ears of his listeners.

BIOGRAPHICAL NOTES

My name is Gerardo Giarletta, stage name Sonoimperfetto and I come from the province of Salerno. In life I practice a passion that for me has become a need, a need that has transformed over time into a personal care. I am an emerging singer-songwriter, and writing is the only thing that makes me free. It makes me feel good because I can tell myself and tell everything I feel inside, see and hear. Writing for me means above all laying yourself bare and often stripping becomes liberating.

It's not just about writing about yourself, it's about expressing concepts that everyone can see themselves in. Writing means stripping yourself of those clothes that anyone can wear. My job? Trying to reach as many hearts as possible, that's why I use simple language in my songs, precisely because I think that with the simplicity of words with the right melody, I can reach the hearts of many people more and I'm having proof of this. I'm really happy and proud of this.

Why did I choose this stage name, this word? Because I understood that over time perfection is just a mirage, an illusion, something impossible to achieve. Imperfection for me is equivalent to beauty and you can touch it with your hand, you can feel it, see it, listen to it. Imperfection for me is synonymous with simplicity, being yourself for better or for worse without wearing masks and Instagram filters.
