Last night, during a territorial control service, the officers of the San Carlo Arena Police Station and the General Prevention and Public Rescue Office noticed an individual in Charles III square handing over a banknote to the driver of a car, receiving a wrapper in exchange. When they were spotted, both attempted to flee in different directions.
The officers, engaging in a brief chase, managed to catch up with the driver in via Colonnello Lahalle. During the search, he was found in possession of 26 packages containing cocaine, with a total weight of about 13 grams, and 65 euros, divided into banknotes of various denominations.
The 36-year-old Neapolitan was therefore arrested for the crime of illicit possession of narcotic substances.
