Wild West style settling of scores in the square of Giffoni Valle Piana where a man was seriously injured by gunshots.
The shooting took place around 21pm in Piazza del Popolo, in the Vassi district of Giffoni Valle Piana. Stefano Russomando The injured man, a 40-year-old man, was approached by a convicted felon. The two argued heatedly, then suddenly a gun appeared.
The gunman, later identified and reported for attempted murder, fired seven times while Russomando was seeking cover, and hit him four times in the abdomen and legs.
The men fled into the square, and the gunman took advantage of the situation to escape. The injured man was taken to the hospital. Salerno where he was operated on, the doctors have reserved their prognosis.

The gunman was caught by the Carabinieri near a stream where he probably got rid of the gun he used to fire. The Carabinieri's investigations are now aiming to discover the motive for the fight and the shooting.
