The road accident – as Fanpage reports – occurred yesterday evening, Tuesday, January 23, 2024, around 11:00 PM, on Corso Garibaldi at number 286. The circumstances of the accident are still unclear. The Naples Local Police, Road Accident Unit, led by Commander Jocelito Orlando, was on scene.
According to initial reports, the young man was crossing the street on the pedestrian crossing when he was hit by a Peugeot 208 car, driven by a 19-year-old, who was driving along Corso Garibaldi in the direction of Piazza Carlo III. The accident occurred at the intersection with Via Cairoli, at number 286.
Francesco Emilio Borrelli, MP for the Greens-Left alliance, also commented on the case : "We need to quickly determine the circumstances of the accident and determine whether the driver was under the influence of alcohol or drugs and whether he was speeding. There are too many victims of folly, speed, and recklessness. Above all, it should be sobering to see that so many victims were hit while crossing at the crosswalk, such as, for example, Elvira Zibra, who was hit and killed by a hit-and-run driver who was speeding and doing wheelies on a motorcycle on Via Caracciolo."
