They had identified the victim inside the supermarket parking lot and waited for the right moment to snatch the bag she was carrying over her shoulder, then quickly escaped on board their car. They had calculated everything, but they had not taken into account that behind them, after a few meters, the carabinieri would arrive and stop them and arrest them.
A 48-year-old and a 46-year-old from the province of Naples were arrested. The two will have to answer for theft by snatching and resisting a public official.
It happened late yesterday morning in teverola, in the Caserta area, near a local supermarket, where one of the two criminals violently grabbed and stole the bag that a 60-year-old woman was carrying over her shoulder as she was getting ready to get back into her car.

After taking possession of the bag, which turned out to contain personal effects and the sum of 65,00 euros in cash, the criminal reached his accomplice who was waiting for him nearby in a blue Fiat Panda with the engine running. As soon as he got back in the car they drove away accelerating dangerously.
As they raced, however, they did not notice that a patrol of the Carabinieri from the Teverola station had arrived behind them and, after a brief and daring chase through the city streets, they stopped and arrested them.
The stolen goods, fully recovered, were returned to the woman. The arrested were escorted to house arrest, at the disposal of the competent judicial authority.
