The seventh event of the 2023-2024 theater season at the Teatro Cilea in Naples will feature Maurizio Casagrande with his show “Il viaggio del papà”. The first performance is scheduled for Thursday, February 1, 2024 at 21.00:4 p.m., with repeats until February 22 and a second series of shows from the 25nd to the XNUMXth of the same month.
“Il viaggio del papà”, written by Maurizio Casagrande and Francesco Velonà and produced by Italia Concerti, will debut in Naples before embarking on a national tour. On stage will be Ania Cecilia, Michele Capone, Giovanni Iovino and Arianna Pucci, with the contribution of Saverio Toppi for the lighting design, Max Comune for the scenography and Mariarosaria Riccio for the costumes.
The drama's plot focuses on the relationship between a father and son, who despite being profoundly different and misunderstood, decide to embark on a journey together. The father, pragmatic and success-oriented, finds himself at odds with his son, an ineffective dreamer.
This journey will become an opportunity for them to break down the walls that separate them, especially after an extraordinary event that will change their vision of the world.
Casagrande, speaking about the show, highlights his desire to combine humor with reflection.
The story unfolds in a contemporary environmental context: the characters find themselves on a plastic island, where they will meet a supernatural being who communicates through music and asks for their help.
The director emphasizes that the show, while addressing the serious issue of environmental care, maintains a light and fun approach. The intent is to speak to the inner child of each spectator, using the fable as a means to root an important message in reality.
