On stage in Naples tomorrow and Sunday 7 January, the show dedicated to children and families for the Epiphany celebration.
A great classic of universal children's literature that the authors of the play, Giorgio Scaramuzzino (also the director of the play), Pasquale Buonarota and Alessandro Pisci, based on the masterpiece by James Matthew Barrie.
We start from the well-known story of little Peter, an eternal child capable of flying, to tell of his fantastic Neverland (the island that isn't there), his friends (Wendy and the lost children) and his enemies, namely Captain Hook and his terrible pirates.
A simple yet effective set design alternately transforms the original steps into both the pirates' boat and the fantastical island, engaging even the youngest spectators in the various "adventures." Produced by the Fondazione TRG/Teatro Ragazzi e Giovani of Turin and the Teatro Nazionale of Genoa, the play stars Alessandro Pisci, Pasquale Buonarota, and Celeste Gugliandolo (playing, in that order, Peter Pan, Captain Hook, and Wendy) with original music and songs by Paolo Silvestri, sets and costumes by Lorenza Gioberti, and lighting design by Aldo Mantovani.
"Peter Pan - underlines the director Giorgio Scaramuzzino - It seemed like an excellent excuse to reiterate the fact that childhood dreams and imagination must never be extinguished, even when our bodies inevitably approach adulthood. The ability to imagine is fundamental for human beings, at every stage and moment of life. 'Being a child' doesn't mean rejecting responsibility or turning your back on reality, but rather approaching everyday life with greater lightness and originality. The show is scheduled in Naples as part of the theatrical season organized by Casa del Contemporaneo/Le Nuvole, I Teatrini, and Progetto Sonora, in collaboration with the Municipality and the management of the Mostra d'Oltremare.
