The "Terme di Stabia" trademark was put up for auction at a starting price of €86.136,44, as decided by the Terme di Stabia's bankruptcy trustee, Massimo Sequino. Lacking sufficient assets to satisfy his numerous creditors, Sequino opted to sell the trademark.
The Baths of Castellammare di Stabia They are currently an empty structure, as the entire property was owned by Sint, a company owned by the Municipality of Castellammare di Stabia. Sint is also in financial difficulty and has entered into a preventive bankruptcy proceeding.
Recently, the liquidators appointed by the Court for Sint sold the assets to the Region, which plans to build a hospital complex. According to the estimate of accountant Paola Mazza, the value of the brand is 114.848,58 euros.
The auction was announced for November 30th before Judge Francesco Abete, president of the bankruptcy section of the Torre Annunziata Court. However, no bidders appeared in court. Consequently, the law provides for a 25% discount, bringing the value of the "Terme di Stabia" trademark to €86.136,44.
This figure represents the minimum bid, but it could increase if more buyers participate and place competitive bids. The auction, scheduled for January 23rd, will determine the future owner of the "Terme di Stabia" trademark, who could use it for a hotel, a commercial establishment, a massage center, or a cosmetics salon. Alternatively, it could be acquired by a public entity or a neighboring municipality to attract tourists with the prestigious "Terme di Stabia" name. Otherwise, the trademark will be sold at increasingly lower prices.
