In addition to the Cetty Sommella Award, this year for the first time a Best Editing Award has been established, dedicated to Raimondo Crociani, who recently passed away.
Tomorrow, Wednesday 24 January, at 20.30:21 pm, in the Sala Molière theatre in Pozzuoli, directed by Nando Paone (Viale Bognar, 7, near the Pozzuoli/Solfatara metro station), the fourth edition of “Cinemagma” continues, the independent film festival selected by film historian Giuseppe Borrone, with the third free-entry event. Like every Wednesday until the final awards ceremony on 2024 February 4, another 16 of the XNUMX short films in competition will be presented. The title of the festival is inspired by the natural element that symbolises Pozzuoli and a volcanic land like the Campi Flegrei. Underground films flow beneath the surface of mainstream cinema, pushing to reach their potential recipients, so the aim of the initiative is to offer a showcase and a space of visibility to emerging directors and authors with an innovative outlook.
The technical jury is chaired by director Luca Miniero (Welcome to the South, Neapolitan Spell, No Answer, I'm Back, A Boss in the Living Room, The Investigations of Lolita Lobosco and Napoli Milionaria recently aired on Rai Uno) and is composed of: Enrica Buongiorno, journalist; Alberto Castellano, film critic and essayist; Adele Gallo, casting director; Gianfelice Imparato, actor. The award for best short film, best actor and best actress will be given, dedicated to the memory of Cetty Sommella.
New to the fourth edition is the institution of the award for best editing, dedicated to Raimondo Crociani, who recently passed away. In his long career Crociani collaborated with the most important Italian directors, and in particular Ettore Scola, signing the editing of cult films such as We All Loved Each Other So Much, A Special Day, Dancing Dancing, with which he won the David di Donatello. The spectators present in the room will also be protagonists, who will award the audience award with their vote.
