An armed assault occurred yesterday afternoon at the Post Office in Torre del Greco, with a loot of several hundred euros.
The office on Via Monsignor Felice Romano, located between the steps of the municipal villa on Corso Vittorio Emanuele and the port area, was the target of the raid. According to available information, two armed and masked criminals carried out the assault, making their way through the crowd waiting for the inclusion check, before addressing the counter staff.
The employees partially opened the self-service machines, with four of the seven machines blocked by an automatic system. Only a few hundred euros were contained in the open machines, a criminal also stole an employee's purse.
It is suspected that accomplices were waiting outside to help the criminals escape. An ambulance was called to the scene, as two people involved suffered from stress-related illnesses.

The Carabinieri are investigating to identify those responsible for the raid, interviewing those present and analyzing video surveillance images of the post office and the surrounding area.
