NToday, in Scalea and in the province of Salerno, the military personnel of the Economic and Financial Police Units of the Guardia di Finanza of Napoli and Salerno have executed a precautionary measure order of custody in prison issued by the GIP of the Court of Catanzaro, at the request of the District Anti-Mafia Directorate.
The measure concerns four people seriously suspected of the crimes of criminal association aimed at drug trafficking and possession and dealing of drugs.
The elements acquired during the investigation refer to an alleged criminal organization dedicated to drug trafficking, in particular cocaine and hashish, operating in Scalea.
The investigations conducted by the Economic and Financial Police Units of the Guardia di Finanza of Naples and Salerno have allowed us to identify the structure of the association, with the division of tasks between suppliers, buyers, couriers, custodians and distributors of the narcotic substance.
The group used encrypted phones for communications.
The supply channels were also identified, with sales also taking place in the provinces of Naples and Salerno, in addition to the use of communication methods through encrypted telephones.
The precautionary measure executed today follows another precautionary measure already executed on 7 July 2023, issued by the GIP of the Court of Catanzaro during the renewal, for territorial jurisdiction, of a similar measure previously issued by the GIP of the Court of Salerno.
