A 33 year old man, resident in Nola, was arrested by the police in Rionero in Vulture, in the province of Potenza, in flagrante delicto for aggravated fraud against a 75-year-old woman.
According to the reconstruction, the woman received a phone call in which she was urgently asked for money, following a completely false but very alarming story, according to which her son had been involved in a road accident with serious injuries.
Subsequently, a man showed up at the victim's house and, taking advantage of the woman's strong fear, convinced her to hand over 2000 euros and valuables. Only after the man left did the woman discover that she had been the victim of a scam.
The agents of the Potenza Police Headquarters' mobile squad managed to stop the man as he was driving away in a car and immediately arrested him. The stolen goods were completely recovered.
