The Court of Appeal of Napoli, twelfth section, revoked the precautionary measure and ordered the release of Joseph Barrett, 39 years old, who was arrested last December as part of an investigation into alleged usurious loans to the detriment of an entrepreneur in the neighborhood soccavo in Naples.
The same judge also ordered house arrest for Charles Capezzuto, 72, also involved in the investigation. Both suspects were represented by lawyers Raffaele Chiummariello and Nicola Pomponio.
The investigation resulted in a total of six precautionary measures being issued by the Carabinieri: prison for two suspects, house arrest for two others, and the obligation to report to the judicial police for the last two.
