Lured into a trap, threatened with beheading for himself and his family, Salvatore Cassese was then stabbed to death over a €160.000 deal that went wrong.

This emerges from the investigation conducted on the investments of a criminal group, also composed of people considered by the District Anti-Mafia Directorate of Napoli close to the Contini clan.

This group was dedicated to laundering the proceeds of tax fraud, involving compliant white-collar workers and willing entrepreneurs, some of whom were owners of well-known fashion brands for young people. Today, the Guardia di Finanza and the Carabinieri of Naples have notified a total of 25 precautionary measures and a seizure order of 8,4 million euros.

Salvatore Cassese, the victim, had been summoned under the pretext of an explanation by a person who, after witnessing the attempted murder, had accompanied him to the hospital, maintaining constant telephone contact with one of the attackers to avoid a complaint which was eventually filed.

The episode dates back to the late afternoon of December 21, 2018Cassese was forced to go to the Neapolitan hospital Villa Bethany in the neighborhood Ponticelli for multiple wounds caused by a series of slashes.

The deal that went wrong, which Cassese had recommended to one of the companies involved in the investigation, concerned an investment from 160.000 euros in refrigerators from China. Once they arrived in Italy, the refrigerators were detained in Genoa because they do not comply with European regulations.

The clan's emissaries asked for a refund of 320 thousand euros for the failed deal.

This situation triggered a real persecution, with requests for reimbursement reaching up to 320.000 euros, culminating in the attempted murder that took place near the Centro Direzionale: Cassese was forced to kneel, threatened with decapitation, beaten and stabbed, while the person who had summoned him with the prospect of a solution witnessed the scene.
