"The ambulance ruins the image of the Hotel". This is the reason why, according to what was reported by Vincenzo De Luca of Intersecurity onlus through Nessuno Tocchi Ippocrate, the 118 staff was attacked near a hotel in Varcaturo, a hamlet of Giugliano in Campania, in the province of Naples.

Around 10:30 this morning, the Varcaturo medical car staff were alerted together with the India ambulance to a red code on Via Domiziana in Varcaturo, at a well-known hotel in the area, for a suicide attempt.

According to the medical staff's account, while the doctor was taking the patient's medical history, the hotel owner allegedly ordered the ambulance driver to move the ambulance away from the entrance, claiming that it was ruining the hotel's image and giving it bad publicity.

From insults and threats, the hotelier allegedly escalated into physical violence, punching the emergency worker, "while his wife and daughter verbally abused the nurse." The crew, following instructions from the operations center, left the scene, which was deemed "unsafe." Furthermore, as the men boarded, "the hotelier and his family kicked and punched the emergency vehicles." The driver is currently in the emergency room receiving treatment for injuries sustained from his punches.

According to the Nessuno Tocchi Ippocrate association, this is the fifth attack in the ASL Napoli 2 Nord area since the beginning of the year and the seventh in the province of Naples. A meeting is scheduled for this afternoon at 17:XNUMX PM at the Prefecture, convened by the Prefect of Naples, Michele di Bari, to discuss strengthening security in healthcare facilities.
