A challenge that starts from art against degradation and abandonment of places. Area Lab35 was born with this aim, the location chosen byKaos 48 cultural association in via Giovanni Porzio 4, at the Business Centre.
An idea born from the mind of Fabrizio Scomparin and Stefano Nasti to "stir up a creative stasis that hovers over our city, after thirty years from the end of the '60s to the beginning of the '90s, in which Naples was an undoubted protagonist on the international artistic and cultural scene", they underline.
An idea that was not born by chance with the creation of Area Lab35 in 2021 in a desecrated and poorly managed place, despite it starting out as the beating economic heart of the city. Nasti and Scomparin have therefore launched a challenge to prejudices, proposing beauty and art in what today seems like an almost forgotten post-industrial area, placing human happiness, through an empathic process, at the center of the universe and art as the primary form of redemption and affirmation.
It fits into this perspective “An Aperitif in the Area”, the vernissage scheduled for January 10th at 19pm at the headquarters in via Porzio, with the aim of giving life to a project for the sale of photographs and works of art.
The event will be held in the spaces of a creative factory, where professionals in photography, painting and sculpture meet and work together every day with the aim of creating movement, generating art and opportunities for cultural exchanges within the Centro Direzionale.
"We want to create a point of reference in our city," explain Nasti and Scomparin, "in the spaces of Area Lab35. Starting January 10th, you can purchase photographs and works by renowned artists. These works represent an investment tied to their growth in value over time, precisely because Kaos 48, as an artistic movement, ensures the curation and development of the artists."
The prints—curated by Art Print Lab, a specialized laboratory within Area Lab 35—are made with the highest-quality materials and meticulous attention to detail, ensuring the essence of the work is preserved over time. The works on display include those by Sergio Siano, Lucio Cremonese, Vincenzo Truppo, Giovanni Izzo, Eugene Pervack, and many other artists.
There will also be some original posters of the most important exhibitions realized by Lucio Amelio in the 70s, 80s and 90s. The event is supported, in addition to Kaos 48, by Camera Service Italia, Slow Foto, Art Print Lab and Genny Borriello Photostudio, all entities that work in the headquarters of the Directional Center, while maintaining their own sector identity.
