Moments of panic were experienced inside Villa Betania, in the neighborhood Ponticelli in Naples, when a patient managed to steal a gun from a security guard for a few moments, spreading terror among the other patients.
The incident, which occurred last Sunday, was reported by Giuseppe Alviti, leader of the National Association of Private Security Guards.
"This frightening event", reports Alviti, "It occurred on Sunday evening around 19.30:XNUMX pm when a man entered the emergency room at Villa Betania Hospital. The patient had arrived complaining of severe abdominal pain.

While medical staff were busy with another patient with critical illness, the man suddenly grabbed a gun from a security guard, causing panic among those present and the medical staff. The man was quickly disarmed by onlookers and the security guard, and the situation gradually returned to normal.
Alviti underlines that this episode of violence is only the latest in a series of similar incidents that have occurred in healthcare facilities in a few days, with cases reported in the Villa di Fiori hospitals in Acerra, Frattamaggiore and Castellammare since the beginning of the year."It is very serious that the guard was disarmed.", concludes Alviti, underlining the importance of quality training for staff in order to ensure greater safety.
