Angelina Mango won the Sanremo Festival with her song "La noia." Geolier placed second with "I' p' me, Tu p' te," and Annalisa placed third with "Sinceremente." Ghali followed with "Casa mia" and Irama with "Tu no."
According to the sum of the votes, Angelina Mango received 40,56% of the votes while Geolier received only 25,2%.

It had been 10 years since a woman won the Sanremo Festival: the last success dates back to 2014, when Arisa won with Controvento.
