Francesco Calzona , Napoli coach , spoke to DAZN microphones from the Mapei Stadium at the end of the recovery match of the 21st matchday of Serie A won 6-1 against Sassuolo , the first victory of his Neapolitan adventure in his third appearance on the bench.
“Osimhen is gradually regaining his best physical form after about a month of absence due to less than optimal conditions. He has had difficult moments, but now he is making progress in his condition.
Kvara also went through a difficult period, but he proved his worth as a player."
“From the beginning of our training, the boys have shown maximum commitment. It was a positive surprise, with total availability in teamwork. Considering the difficulty of last season, it is not easy to get rid of negative influences, but I see that they are working well together.
Even though we have only been together for a week, I have noticed a great quality in our training, which makes me optimistic. The boys have a strong will to improve the current situation."
“As for the Champions League zone, at the moment we have to concentrate on each match and try to gain as many points as possible.
Of course, it's right to have a little hope, and the boys are aware of that. The goal is to win and evaluate our position at the end of the season."
“Osimhen and Kvara are two very talented players, and I wouldn’t be so crazy as to deprive myself of players of this quality.
If I see that we are losing intensity or that someone is having difficulty, I bring in whoever has been out. I am trying to adopt a simple tactical approach, trying to keep the pressure in the opponent's half.
The boys have made great strides, I am asking them for order and we are getting it. We must continue on this path.”
