The Carabinieri of the Casal di Principe Radiomobile Section arrested two men, a 35-year-old and a 42-year-old, both local, for possession of narcotics with intent to deal.
The two were stopped yesterday evening around 21pm while travelling on board a Citroen C00 in via San Donato in Casal di PrincipeTheir nervous attitude aroused the suspicion of the soldiers who decided to search them.
Although an initial search was unsuccessful, the Carabinieri decided to conduct a more thorough investigation, taking the two to the barracks.
Intuition paid off: the 42-year-old was hiding a cellophane bag in his underwear containing 6 doses of cocaine, for a total weight of 3,03 grams. Before being searched, the 35-year-old spontaneously handed over to the Carabinieri another cellophane bag containing 12 doses of cocaine, for a total weight of 4,23 grams.
The two were placed under house arrest pending trial.
The Carabinieri operation demonstrates their constant commitment to combating drug trafficking in the area.
