L'Eco di Bergamo's report cards weren't kind to Geolier, the Neapolitan rapper competing at the Sanremo Festival. They gave the artist a 4, with harsh criticism: “He arrives at the disco dressed like my uncle and does a cover of last year's Lazza, but in Neapolitan.”

However, the controversy erupted due to the addition: “Pre-eighteenth Camorrista” A definition that has sparked the anger of Neapolitans and many on social media, accusing the newspaper of stereotypes and superficiality.

Despite the criticism, Geolier achieved great success on the second night of the Festival, ranking at the top of the top five thanks to the votes of the Televote and the radio jury.

The rapper, excited, commented: “I expected it is a big word… I am happy. The road to Saturday is long, we have to get there alive”.

Geolier dedicated his participation in Sanremo in Naples to the kids and his family: "Any victory would be for them. It's nicer to win when you have many people to share the victory with. And defeat hurts less when you share it."

The controversy in L'Eco di Bergamo has sparked an important debate on the role of rap music and the representation of Naples and Southern Italy in the media.
