Geolier wins the cover night with a medley of hip hop hits, but his victory is greeted with the usual prejudice against Neapolitans by the audience at the Ariston theatre who booed him.
In second place is Angelina Mango with her touching interpretation of “La Rondine”, followed by Annalisa, Ghali with Ratchopper and Alfa with Roberto Vecchioni.
The ranking was drawn up based on the vote of the public at home. In addition to the televoting, the vote of the new Radio jury and that of the Press Room also contributed to determining the top five.
Neapolitan rapper Geolier performed a medley of "Strade," a powerful tribute to hip hop, alongside Guè (the only Milanese rapper) with whom he sang "Brivido," "Luchè" for "O' primmo ammore," and then closed with Gigi D'Alessio's "Chiagne." Some believed the award should have gone to Angelina Mango, whose performance of "La Rondine" moved everyone to tears.
The evening was full of great emotions, with the 28 competing singers performing duets and covers of iconic Italian and international songs.
