At the end of an amateur football match in Castelnuovo Rangone, in the Modena area, a fan stabbed a young footballer, seriously injuring him.
The incident occurred yesterday afternoon. The fight, for reasons yet to be ascertained, apparently broke out between the fan, a 20-year-old, and the footballer, a slightly younger boy.
During the fight, the fan pulled out a knife and hit the player several times. The young man was taken to the hospital in serious condition, but not in danger of life.

The Carabinieri, who responded to the scene, quickly tracked down and arrested the attacker. The 20-year-old, who had suffered minor injuries while handling the blade, was found in possession of 3,5 grams of hashish.
The attacker was released after being arrested.
The 20-year-old, with no criminal record, has been released. His status will be assessed by the judicial authorities, who may apply preventive measures.
