Naples . A 14-year-old high school student with tetraplegia was unable to attend an inclusive school trip to Naples . The girl, feeling guilty about her disability, was forced to stay at school while her classmates enjoyed a show at the theater.
The mother went to the police to report the situation and said that this was not the first episode of this kind. The woman also complained about financial problems and lack of support from the school.
The mother, a single mother of two, said she did not receive enough help from the state. She had to buy a car and special equipment for her disabled daughter, as well as pay for the assistance the girl needed at school.
The situation was reported to lawyers Sergio Pisani and Cecilia Gargiulo, who are following the case together with the association “La battaglia di Andrea”.
The story of the high school student suffering from dyspastic systonic tetraparesis has been brought to the attention of the competent authorities and is now under the supervision of the military of the Arma and the IV section of the Naples Prosecutor's Office, which protects the vulnerable.
