A memorandum of understanding was signed today between the City of Naples, the Public Prosecutor's Office, and the Superintendency of Archaeology, Fine Arts, and Landscape of the Naples metropolitan area.
The aim of the protocol is to ensure the best possible protection for the vast heritage of cultural assets of the Municipality. An exchange of information and interventions will be initiated aimed at a management based on criteria of legality and transparency for the properties and sites of archaeological, architectural, artistic and historical interest owned by the municipality.
The objectives of the activities envisaged by the agreement include combating illegal property occupation, fighting illegal building activities and combating acts of damage to property or art and historical-artistic objects.
The mayor of Naples, Gaetano Manfredi, underlined the importance of this synergy for the recovery of buildings and the protection of artistic and cultural assets in the historic center of the city.
With this coordinated action, the aim is to preserve and enhance the cultural heritage of Naples, with particular attention to the protection of artistic assets and the recovery of buildings of historical and cultural interest.
