An episode of unprecedented violence shattered the morning of an ANM bus driver in Naples . The man, in his 50s, was punched by a passenger who tried to get off the bus outside of a stop.
The incident occurred around 9 a.m. at the Sant'Erasmo tram station . The young man, traveling on line 421, demanded to get off at an unscheduled point. When the driver refused, the passenger began insulting him and, once they reached the terminus, vented his anger with a vile beating.
The driver, hit in the back, was taken to the hospital with a yellow code. The police intervened on the scene and are investigating the incident to identify the attacker, who fled after the violent action.
The complaint of the Usb union
“We firmly condemn this vile act and express our full solidarity and closeness to the attacked colleague ,” commented Adolfo Vallini of the provincial executive of USB Private Employment in Naples.
The union denounces the lack of safety measures for drivers and users of local public transport, asking for the activation of a company crisis unit to address and resolve these episodes which, unfortunately, occur with worrying frequency.
