Huge quantity of counterfeit goods seized, three illegal workers reported
As part of intensifying anti-counterfeiting efforts, the Naples Guardia di Finanza (Financial Police) has busted a clandestine factory of over 60 square meters in Pagani (Salerno) that was producing thousands of counterfeit products and gadgets reproducing the logos of SSC Napoli and other Serie A teams, particularly in preparation for the Champions League match between Napoli and Barcelona on February 21, 2024.
The operation was conducted by the “Baschi Verdi” of the Pronto Impiego Group of Naples who dismantled a real supply chain of illicit products. The factory was managed by an Italian citizen, legal representative of a limited liability company operating in the textile sector. The woman produced and distributed the counterfeit goods for subsequent resale near the stadium and the areas most frequented by fans.
The operation led to the seizure of over 11.000 counterfeit products, including scarves, uniforms and caps that also reproduced the image of the footballer Maradona, as well as dozens of high-precision machines used for their manufacturing, including heat presses, digital laser printers with integrated PCs, computers containing over 20.000 print files and work tools.
Three workers who were working illegally were also identified inside the factory.
The owner of the company was reported to the competent Judicial Authority.
The seized goods, if placed on the market, would have generated an illicit profit estimated at over 30 thousand euros.
The operation by the Guardia di Finanza of Naples represents a hard blow to the phenomenon of counterfeiting, in defense of Made in Italy and consumer rights.
Furthermore, the emergence of undeclared work confirms the commitment of the Guardia di Finanza in combating all forms of illegality that damage the economy and society.
