“Piedigrotta Bideri 2023”: The new collection dedicated to emerging talents of Neapolitan music
The compilation “Piedigrotta Bideri 2023” celebrates six new interpreters of Neapolitan song, presenting reinterpretations of tradition and original compositions. This digital album was launched by the Bideri Foundation after the inaugural event of the event held last December.
The protagonists of this collection are Cristina Cafiero, Fabrizio Mandara, Francesca Fedeli, Roberta Minieri, Pasquale Cirillo and Veronica Simioli, together with the special participation of Eddy Napoli. The first part of the album presents unreleased songs presented during the inaugural event, which show the executive and compositional skills of the young artists. The second part offers reinterpretations of classics such as Serenata napulitana, Scetate, 'O sole mio, Fenesta vascia and the rediscovery of Nonna, nonna, a little-known song by Roberto Murolo.
The compilation represents an interesting intergenerational encounter, also including a touching live interpretation by Eddy Napoli during the opening concert of Piedigrotta Bideri 2023. Together with the album Piedigrotta suite by Ernesto Nobili and the eight-episode podcast, the compilation constitutes the digital memory of Piedigrotta Bideri 2023.
This project, funded by the Municipality of Naples as part of the project Napoli città della musica, represents a significant opportunity to enjoy over time the contents produced during the event. Both Neapolitan music enthusiasts and those interested in new artistic trends will find in this compilation an authentic testimony of the emerging talent in the Neapolitan musical panorama.
