Francesco Scurti, almost 21, was arrested in connection with the attempted robbery of a scooter in Naples, which led to the attempted murder of an engineer. A photo posted on Facebook, in which Scurti is wearing a neck warmer similar to that of one of the two robbers, became a key element in his involvement.
Scurti is suspected of being the accomplice of the minor who shot the victim in the legs in March 2023. Comparison analysis of Scurti's photo with the images from the robbery video reveals that both are wearing black neck warmers with vertical reflective trim. Further investigation, including wiretaps, has strengthened the hypothesis of Scurti's involvement as an accomplice.
The photo was taken from the suspect's social media profile. The minor involved in the robbery had already been arrested thanks to a wiretap that recorded his confession. The wiretap had been placed in his home. In a phone conversation with his mother, the minor acknowledged that his identity had been discovered.
