Mayor Gaetano Manfredi and Councilor for Infrastructure and Mobility Edoardo Cosenza presented a package of road maintenance and redevelopment projects in the Posillipo area and around Capodichino Airport.
These interventions, with a total value of 45,5 million euros, will include a series of works on roads and surrounding areas. As for Posillipo, the road works are part of an integrated project called “Grande Progetto Posillipo”, which aims to enhance the cultural heritage of the area.
The resources available for the maintenance and redevelopment of the roads amount to 31.460.227 euros and include interventions on various roads, including via Manzoni, via Posillipo, viale Virgilio, via Boccaccio, via Tito Lucrezio Caro, via Petrarca and via Orazio.
Other works planned within this project include the restoration and enhancement of the Virgiliano Park, the re-functionalization of the city fountains and sewerage works with consequent arrangement of the roads. For the redevelopment of the roads around the Capodichino airport, 13.976.400 euros have been allocated.
The works will involve several streets and will be completed by the first half of 2026. Currently, works are underway on other primary streets of the city, with a cost of 30 million euros, while interventions in other areas of the city are planned for 2024.
These important interventions aim to improve the road infrastructure and the quality of life of citizens, contributing to making Naples a more livable and functional city.
