Following specific observation and control operations, carried out with the aid of technical equipment, members of the Carabinieri Forestry Unit of Roccamonfina (CE) discovered repeated illegal disposals of non-hazardous special waste from building demolitions and dilapidations, dumped on bare ground and in an uncontrolled manner, in the Lattani area of the municipality of Roccamonfina (CE).
The observation service has reported that the author's modus operandi was always the same for each waste disposal operation carried out. In fact, the waste was delivered to the aforementioned area, always using the same truck owned by a local construction company. The overall volume of illegal disposals recorded by the observation service was quantified at over 20 cubic meters by means of 8 separate transports (approximately 2,5 cubic meters of construction waste disposed of for each delivery carried out).
The area in question is landscaped and is included in the perimeter of the “Roccamonfina-Foce del Garigliano” Regional Park and in the SIC area (Site of Community Importance).
Therefore, the aforementioned military personnel proceeded to seize on their own initiative the area affected by the illegal waste disposal, covering approximately 530 mXNUMX, and reported the legal representative of the aforementioned construction company at liberty for the crimes of: illegal management of special waste and for multiple environmental crimes, such as the deterioration of habitats within the SIC protected site; defacement of natural beauty due to the alteration of the state of the places in an area subject to landscape restrictions and damage to the protected area of the “Roccamonfina Regional Park”.
