A 14-year-old boy, MA, died this morning in hospital in Nocera Inferiore after feeling unwell in his home in Sarno.
The family filed a complaint, and the Nocera Inferiore Public Prosecutor's Office opened an investigation to shed full light on the causes of death.
The boy's medical records have been seized and the body is available to the Judicial Authorities for an autopsy.
Initial tests revealed that the 14-year-old had a general feeling of malaise and vomiting during the night. His parents took him to the Martiri del Villa Malta hospital in Sarno, where he underwent initial tests.
He was subsequently transferred to Umberto I Hospital in Nocera Inferiore, where his condition worsened. He died at dawn today.
The news shocked the community of Sarno. The investigations of the Prosecutor's Office will have to clarify whether there was negligence or medical errors. The family of the 14-year-old is assisted by a lawyer.
