The 57-year-old man faces charges of road traffic injury following an accident that occurred on the evening of February 19. While traveling along Via San Pasquale in Pietramelara, near Caserta, he sideswiped an Aprilia Scarabeo motorcycle, owned and driven by a 26-year-old Ghanaian worker who lived in the area.
Due to the violent impact, attributable to the violation of the rules on road traffic discipline by the driver, the 26-year-old lost control of his vehicle, ending up falling on the asphalt. The immediate intervention of the Carabinieri of the local station allowed them to identify the author of the accident and to request the intervention of the medical personnel of the "118" service. Given the serious conditions of the young man, it was necessary to transport him in red code to the hospital in Caserta.
Currently, the Ghanaian citizen remains hospitalized due to the multiple fractures reported, although his life is not in danger. The findings and tests carried out by the Carabinieri have allowed them to reconstruct the dynamics of the accident, leading, this morning, to the referral of the driver at liberty.
