Everything went as expected, or rather, as expected after Sanremo. But since this time someone has gone beyond the bounds of human and professional decency, lawyer Erich Grimaldi, of the Naples Bar Association, has announced that he will file a civil access petition to obtain the votes cast by the press room for the 30 artists competing at Sanremo.
The aim is to ascertain whether the vote expressed in Geolier was discriminatory last night.
“60% of the televoting was in favor of Geolier”, Grimaldi stressed. “It is therefore necessary and proper to understand whether Rai, as a public service, recognized Angelina Mango's victory in a discriminatory manner or not.”
The lawyer also asks to know the methods and skills with which the journalists voting in Sanremo were selected. “All of this”, says Grimaldi, “also considering the serious statements made by some of them after the cover rankings.”
Grimaldi refers to “expressions of the type: 'Don't let Campania vote anymore' or like that of a journalist from Pavia who exclaimed 'I gave him one because I couldn't give zero', also asking Geolier in a press conference 'don't you feel like you've stolen a bit of the yesterday's victory…'.”
“These are behaviors – concludes the lawyer – which I will also report to the order of journalists.”
Grimaldi's request has sparked a heated debate. Some argue that it is legitimate to ask for the votes of the press room to clarify matters, while others accuse the lawyer of wanting to exploit the matter. Rai has not yet commented on Grimaldi's request.
