A 31-year-old Romanian was arrested by the State Police of Nola for attempted fraud, injuries, resisting a public official and aggravated damage.
The man was the protagonist of a daring escape along the state road 162 that ended in the municipality of Acerra.
He was caught red-handed while attempting to carry out the so-called “mirror scam”. Together with an accomplice, a woman, he had simulated a car accident with another motorist, in order to obtain money.
At the sight of the officers, the man attempted to flee in his car, ramming the service vehicle and endangering the lives of several pedestrians.
During his daring escape, the man abandoned the car at an intersection, leaving his pregnant wife and their four minor children on board.
Reached and stopped by the agents, the man was arrested. The accomplice was reported for attempted fraud.
